Lara Garcia was born in Spain and lives and work between London and Madrid. She studied Fine Art in Madrid and Sttutgart (Germany). After her MA in Fine Art she was granted with a scholarship to develop her PhD. During four years she focused on her Thesis titled: Strategies of Representation of the Rwandan genocide. Alfredo Jaar and the insufficient gaze. She was granted with two short residencies in London and New York to develop her research and traveled twice to Rwanda (2007 and 2008).
